I am a serial obsessive. At any one time, I’m interested in a thing—extremely interested in it. It becomes for me the most fascinating thing imaginable and I spend every spare moment finding out all I can about it. Before the Internet, this was a serious debilitating condition. Now, I can do my research in the time a normal sort of person spends checking Facebook. Thank you, Tim Berners Lee!

The fascination du jour is photography. I have new gear, about 50 pounds of books (of course) on the topic, and some lessons with a great pro. This is a shot from outside her studio—a shot that I could not possibly have created even a week ago.
